Pearls in the Atlantic • Adventure, nature, wellness and cuisine – The Azores are an autonomous region of Portugal. A group of islands in the middle of the Atlantic characterized by dramatic landscapes, fishing villages, green meadows, blue hydrangea hedges, and a lot of ancient forest. São Miguel is the largest island – with its own small but excellent airport, which can be reached by direct flights from North America and Europe. Otherwise, it is easy to reach via Lisbon. The Azores feel a little Hawaiian, a bit Icelandic, and certainly comparable to the southern Alps.

Itinerary

Culinary & Cuisine • A new definition of fresh – The cuisine here is among the best in the world. We are sure you will be thrilled with the food, and it’s an integral part of our Azores Adventure itinerary. We’ve been told by the locals that they don’t like to eat out when they are off the islands, and now we know why!

São Miguel • Crystal Clear water – São Miguel is the largest island in the Azores, 38 miles long and 10 miles wide. It also includes the many tiny islands of Formigas and Santa Maria. Here on the main island, after a delicious lunch, we’ll relax in the Caldeira Velha – a natural swimming pool with crystal-clear water that is warmed by natural steam.

Whale Watching, Jungle & Volcano Island • Visiting the most beautiful spots – How about a boat trip out to the Atlantic Ocean for whale watching? Or an extraordinary off-road trip through the jungle? Every day will be something new— high altitudes — off the beaten track — in the middle of extraordinary nature.
